+Does Fivebar play the games?
No — and deliberately. There is no computer opponent and no rules engine playing against you. Fivebar is the score sheet for the game already happening at your table: it does the arithmetic, enforces the scoring rules and settles the arguments. Everything else is yours.
+What is free, and what does the unlock include?
Two sheets are free forever: the Scoreboard, which keeps score for any game at all, and Dominoes. They are real sheets rather than timed demos — but the free tier holds up to 4 players and keeps your last 3 games. The one-time $6.99 unlock opens the other sixteen sheets — cribbage, the dice sheet, darts, cricket, bowling, farkle, phase race, card rounds, hearts, spades, belote, coinche, tarot, table tennis, pickleball and pétanque — lifts both limits, and adds the full history, season tables and rivalry statistics. It is a single purchase: no subscription, no ads, nothing that renews.
+Will a game ever stop mid-hand and ask me to pay?
Never. Nothing that keeps score is behind the paywall once a game is running. If a sheet is locked you find out before the first point, not halfway through the evening with four people waiting.
+How do I restore my purchase on a new phone?
Install Fivebar, open any locked sheet and tap Restore purchases on the unlock screen — or simply make sure you are signed into the same Apple Account, since entitlements follow it automatically. There is no account of ours to log into.
+How do I get a refund?
Purchases go through Apple, so refunds do too: reportaproblem.apple.com, sign in, find the purchase and choose a reason. Apple decides refunds, not us — but if something in the app went wrong, email us first and we will help.
+Do my scores sync between my iPhone and iPad?
Yes, through your own private iCloud, with no account and no server of ours in between. Both devices need to be signed into the same Apple Account with iCloud Drive on. Sync is opportunistic — give it a minute after coming back online. With iCloud off, everything still works; it simply stays on that device.
+Does it work with no signal?
Completely. Every sheet, every calculation and the whole history work offline. Kitchen tables, pub corners, aeroplanes and cabins in the woods were the design brief.
+Which games can I keep score for?
Eighteen sheets cover most of a game night: a general scoreboard for anything at all, dominoes, cribbage, a five-dice category sheet, darts and darts cricket, ten-pin bowling, farkle, a ten-phase race, a card round grid with a bid column (rummy, canasta, whist, skat, doppelkopf, tysiąc, remik), hearts, spades, full French scoring for belote, coinche and tarot, pétanque, and rally scoring for table tennis and pickleball. If a game is not listed, the Scoreboard keeps score for it.
+Can I change the target score, or the rules we play?
Yes. Cribbage to 61 instead of 121, card rounds to 500, darts from 301 with straight-out finishing and played over legs — the target and house rules are set from the ⋯ menu inside a game. Fivebar follows the table, not the other way round.
+I typed the wrong score.
Undo is in the toolbar of every sheet and always available. Typing into a cell that already has a number replaces it rather than adding to it — a scorekeeper that silently double-counts a correction is worse than no scorekeeper. Contract deals can be deleted whole from the ledger.
+Can I get a game out of the app?
Any finished game exports as plain text for the group chat, or as CSV for the one person in every family who keeps a spreadsheet of game nights.
+How many people can play?
Up to twelve on the general Scoreboard once unlocked, and as many as each game sensibly allows on the others — eight on most sheets, two partnerships for belote and coinche, three to five for tarot. On the free tier a game holds up to 4 players.
Still stuck?
Email hello@bartstudio.io with your device model and iOS version — a screenshot of the sheet helps most. Tell us what your table plays, too: the sheets that exist were all somebody's game night.
