Terms of Service

Short, because the app is: you buy it once, it runs on your device, your games are yours, and the score is still the table's to check.

Version 1 · updated 17 August 2026 · Privacy Policy

1. This agreement

These terms are a contract between you and Bartłomiej Żabicki, a sole proprietor established in Poland trading as BartStudio("we", "us"), covering the Fivebar app and the website at fivebar.bartstudio.io.

Registered address: ul. Podgórska 3, 32-010 Baranówka, Poland · NIP: PL6821775165 · Contact: hello@bartstudio.io.

By installing or using Fivebar you accept these terms. If you do not, do not use the app. Our Privacy Policy forms part of this agreement.

2. What Fivebar is

Fivebar is a scorekeeping app. It records the scores you enter for games you are playing in the real world, applies the scoring rules of the sheet you chose, and keeps a history and statistics on your device.

Fivebar is not a game. It contains no computer opponent, does not deal cards, roll dice or play any part in the game itself, and it is not gambling software: nothing in it can be wagered, bought with money, or cashed out.

It runs entirely on your device. There is no account, and no service of ours that can be suspended or go offline.

3. Your licence

We grant you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable licence to use Fivebar on Apple devices you own or control, as permitted by the App Store Terms of Service. You may not copy, resell, reverse-engineer or redistribute the app except where that restriction is void under applicable law. We keep all intellectual property rights in the app itself.

4. Free sheets and the one-time unlock

  • Free includes two complete sheets — the general Scoreboard and Dominoes — with the full scoring, undo and player roster. They are not time-limited and not watermarked.
  • The unlock is a single, one-time in-app purchase of $6.99 (the price in your local currency is shown in the app) which opens the remaining sheets and the full history and rivalry statistics.
  • It is not a subscription. Nothing renews, nothing expires, and there is no recurring charge of any kind.

Payment is handled by Apple against your Apple Account. The unlock is tied to that account and can be restored on your other devices at no further cost. Refunds are requested from Apple at reportaproblem.apple.com and are decided by Apple; your statutory consumer rights, including EU withdrawal rights, are unaffected.

We may change the price or what the unlock includes for future purchasers. That never applies retroactively: a purchase you have already made is not taken away or converted into a subscription.

5. Your games stay yours

The players you add, the scores you enter and the history that results are yours. We claim no ownership or licence over them, and we could not use them if we wanted to: they are on your device and in your own iCloud, where we have no access.

You are responsible for what you type. If you enter other people's names, keep it to what they would be comfortable with — a first name or a nickname is all the app needs.

You are also responsible for your own backups. Deleting the app, or deleting its iCloud data, removes your games permanently and we cannot recover them for you.

6. The score is yours to check

Fivebar does the arithmetic carefully, and its scoring rules are tested — but it records what you tell it. A number typed into the wrong row is a number in the wrong row, and house rules differ from table to table.

The final word on any game belongs to the people playing it, not to the app. Do not rely on Fivebar as evidence in a dispute where something material turns on the outcome, and check the sheet before anyone pays for the drinks.

7. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • use the app unlawfully, or to record or facilitate illegal gambling;
  • attempt to circumvent the in-app purchase or the entitlement check;
  • interfere with the app's operation, or with the App Store infrastructure that distributes it.

8. Game names and trademarks

Fivebar keeps score for traditional games. Its sheets are named descriptively — a "Dice Sheet", a "Phase Race", "Card Rounds" — precisely because some commercially published games of a similar shape are protected by trademarks belonging to their owners.

Where the name of a published game appears anywhere in our materials, it is used only to describe compatibility — what the sheet can keep score for — and remains the property of its owner. Fivebar is an independent product and is not affiliated with, sponsored by or endorsed by any game publisher. It contains no rules text, artwork or components from any published game.

9. No warranty

Fivebar is provided "as is". To the fullest extent permitted by law we disclaim all implied warranties, including fitness for a particular purpose and uninterrupted or error-free operation.

If you are a consumer, this does not affect your mandatory statutory rights: EU and UK consumer law requires digital content to be as described and of satisfactory quality, and nothing here removes that.

10. Liability

Nothing in these terms limits liability for death or personal injury caused by negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot lawfully be limited.

Subject to that, our total liability arising out of or in connection with the app is limited to the greater of the amount you paid us for it in the twelve months before the claim and EUR 50. We are not liable for indirect or consequential loss, or for lost data where you had the means to keep a copy.

11. Ending this agreement

You may end it at any time by deleting the app. We may end it if you materially breach these terms. Because everything lives on your device, ending the agreement does not delete your games — uninstalling does. Sections that by their nature should survive (ownership, disclaimers, liability, governing law) do.

12. Apple's role

The app is distributed through Apple's App Store. Apple is not a party to these terms, has no obligation to provide support or maintenance for the app, and is not responsible for any product claims — but Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms and may enforce them against you. Your use of the App Store is governed by Apple's own terms.

13. Governing law and disputes

These terms are governed by Polish law. Disputes go to the courts competent for Kraków, Poland — except that if you are a consumer, you keep the protection of the mandatory rules and the courts of the country where you live.

Consumers in the EU can also use the European Commission's Online Dispute Resolution platform. Honestly, email hello@bartstudio.io first — most things are fixed in a day.

14. Changes to these terms

This is version 1. If we change these terms materially we bump the version number and the date above, and where appropriate tell you in the app. Continued use after a change means you accept it; if you don't, stop using the app and delete it.
